University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center Adopts BodyTom for Brachytherapy Treatment

First Center in the World to Use BodyTom in the Brachytherapy Suite
DANVERS, Mass.--(
BUSINESS WIRE)-- Samsung NeuroLogica Corporation, the healthcare subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and a leading provider of advanced imaging solutions, announced today that the University of Wisconsin (UW) Carbone Cancer Center in Madison acquired and is incorporating NeuroLogica’s BodyTom® technology into its radiation oncology brachytherapy planning process. UW Carbone Cancer Center is the first center in the world to use the BodyTom scanner for brachytherapy treatment.
The BodyTom CT further distinguishes UW Carbone Cancer Center, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-certified comprehensive cancer center that recently landed 15 physicians on Newsweek’s “Top Cancer Doctors 2015” list. The 32-slice portable CT scanner will be stationed in the brachytherapy suite, enabling patients to undergo radiation imaging, planning and treatment in a single location.
